Hi, everyone! We want to get Shreveport put on the map NOW! How, you say? By attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the LONGEST MEXICAN WAVE LINE.
So, in the spirit of fun, we will be doing our attempt twice, right before the Centaur Mardi Gras Parade on February 18 and, again, just ahead of the Gemini Mardi Gras Parade on February 25, with all the people along Clyde Fant Parkway who are waiting.
BUT, to do that, we need YOUR HELP! We are looking for groups of four to act as STEWARDS to help make it happen. What does that mean? Long story short, each team will be given a section of the parade route and be responsible for wristbanding participants, building the excitement as time draws near, and, most importantly, getting everyone to do THE WAVE when it comes along.
Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. And if you want to volunteer individually, as a pair, or a trio, feel free to sign up. We need lots of great people to make this HAPPEN IN SHREVEPORT and GET THAT RECORD! Oh...and you will get a cool T-shirt to wear during and keep after the event.
Even if you aren't able to volunteer, we still need our wavers to help break the record! Here's the best part - ANYONE can be a waver, so bring out the whole family!
