Captain Gemini XXIX Tracy Herrin

Krewe of Gemini Captain XXIX, Tracy Herrin, was born and raised in Shreveport, LA. She proudly chose a careerin the United States Air Force, where she was a Federal Agent with the Office of Special Investigations. Her retirement from Active Duty in 2004 marks one of the proudest moments in Tracy's life.

Following retirement, she has become an active member of the American Legion and a member of the Krewe of Gemini in 2014. Tracy has been Float Lieutenant, served on the constitution and bi-laws committee, the Nominating Committee, served as secretary on the Board of Directors, headed up the Dress It Up Sale, and has volunteered to help the Krewe whenever she can.

She has been married to her husband Jimmy for 12 years and has one daughter. In her free time she enjoys being on the water, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.

Tracy is enjoying her year as Captain and is looking forward to a “Rocking” Mardi Gras season with her extraordinary Royalty court, who together will always remain "Forever XXIX"!!!

King Gemini XXIX Herb Doughty

King Gemini XXIX, Herb Doughty, was raised in a small rural town in central Louisiana. He earned a Baccalaureate Degree in Marketing and Business while attending Louisiana Tech University.

After college Herb moved to Shreveport and began acareer in banking. He has served on the board of the local Red Cross, Treasurer of the Independence Bowl, President of American Institute of Banking and taught Junior Achievement. Herb is currently the Vice Presidentof the Member Business Services for Carter FederalCredit Union.

In his free time he enjoys boating, tennis and golf.

Herb has two sons he is very proud of and three wonderful grandkids.

He has been a member of the Krewe of Gemini for 14 years and loved the great friendships that have been made over these years. He has served as the Secretary of the Board of Directors, has been float lieutenant, and was Duke of Texas Gemini XXI. He looks forward to serving as King XXIX and representing the best Krewe in town!

Queen Gemini XXIX Sue Cooksey

Queen Gemini XXIX, Sue Cooksey, was born and raised in DeRidder, Louisiana. Armed with a Masters in Education, Sue was a dedicated teacher in the Caddo Parish public school system for 30 years, until her retirement in 2017.

Sue as been an active participant of the Krewe of Gemini since she joined in 1997. She has been a Float Lieutenant, served on various committees, and is currently serving as Member-At-Large on Gemini’s Board of Directors. Sue has made many long-lasting and cherished friendships over the years.

Traveling, reading, and being a devoted LSU Tiger and New Orleans Saints fan are Sue’s favorites pass times.  She has been married to the love of her life and her college sweetheart, Sam, for 47 years and has three children and five grandchildren.

Sue is deeply honored to have been chosen to serve as Queen Gemini XXIX. She is eager to represent the Kreweof Gemini as a goodwill ambassador in the community.  And with the opportunity to serve as your Queen, Sue will always adhere to this year’s Gemini Royalty motto and remain ‘Forever XXIX’!

Duchess of Texas XXIX Angela Cornelius

Duchess of Texas XXIX, Angela Cornelius was born and raised in the historic city of San Antonio, Texas. She attended the University of Texas Medical Branch where she earned her medical doctorate degree. She is licensed by both the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Board of Emergency Medicine.

Angela has been married to her husband, Brian, for eleven blissful years and has two little boys, she call her miracles.  She is part of the faculty at the LSU-Shreveport emergency medicine residency program. She is also are serve deputy for the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office.  Angela is active in volunteer work for Feist Weiller cancer center, arts in medicine and her church.

She joined the Krewe of Gemini in 2015 and has served as assistant Float Lieutenant. Angela enjoys the social outlet that allows her to meet people she wouldn't have the opportunity to meet otherwise. She is excited about her year as Royalty and hopes to represent to Krewe well.

Duke of Texas XXIX Brian Cornelius

Duke of Texas XXIX, Brian Cornelius was born an Army Brat in Clarksville, Tennessee. He has a doctorate degreei n nursing practice from the University of Alabama and currently works as a nurse anesthetist at University Health.

Brian has been married for eleven years, to his wife Angela, and has two young sons. When he isn't helping save lives, he likes to spend time with his boys, go hunting, read, and is a major University of Alabama fan.

During Brian's many years of schooling, he had many interesting jobs: firefighter, paramedic, flight paramedic/nurse, deputy sheriff, and even a bouncer. He was a true jack of all trades.

Brian joined the Krewe of Gemini in 2016 for the many social opportunities it provides. He has enjoyed the friendships he has made and looks forward to the lasting bonds he knows they will carry.

Duchess of Arkansas XXIX Mary Gallagher

Duchess of Arkansas XXIX, Mary Gallagher may have been born in the great state of Texas, but considers Shreveport her home. After graduating from Captain Shreve High School, she attended LSU-Shreveport and then Northwestern State University where she graduated with a degree in Nursing. Mary is the Nursing Supervisor of the Pediatric ICU at University Health. She has been a loyal employee there for the past 26 years.

Mary has been married for seven years to her husband Patrick, and has four children. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, camping, traveling and reading.

Mary joined the Krewe of Gemini in 2008. She is active on her float, has participated in the yearly hospital visits, and has helped with the Bal. Mary cherishes the friendships and memories she has made through the years.

She is looking forward to being Duchess of Arkansas andrepresenting the Krewe of Gemini.

Duke of Arkansas XXIX Tommy Gay

Duke of Arkansas XXIX, Tommy Gay, is an outdoorsman who loves hunting, fishing, and camping and anything else the North Louisiana lifestyle has to offer this self proclaimed “redneck”. Born and raised Shreveport, he received his Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern State College. Tommy is a Plant Engineer, currently working for JP Morgan Chase Bank as their Facility Manager.

He was widowed when he lost his wife Cynthia, over three years ago. Tommy has been blessed with two children, three step children, and five wonderful grandchildren.

Being a member of the Krewe of Gemini for three “funtastic” years and he has made some great and lasting friendships.

Tommy is eagerly anticipating his year as Duke of Arkansas XXIX and representing the Krewe of Gemini.

Duke of Louisiana XXIX Scott Steele

Duke of Louisiana XXIX, Scott Steele, was raised on a dairy farm near Rayville, LA. He graduated from Rayville High School and Northeast Louisiana University. Scott’s hobbies include staying fit with CrossFit and taekwondo.  He loves golf and has more recently developed a skill in woodworking and furniture construction. More important than any of this, however, is his love of family. From his immediate family to his fiancés family, he keeps his hear twith them no matter where he is.

Scott discovered his love of travel while studying in London, England, which motivated to him to see the world.  Luckily, he found a career as a Catastrophe Team Manager with State Farm, that has taken him to 31 of the 50 states and he travels abroad for vacations whenever he can.

Scott has been a member of the Krewe of Gemini for fouryears and is looking forwarding to representing the state of Louisiana with his fiancé Sherry.

Duchess of Louisiana XXIX Sherry Roche

Duchess of Louisiana XXIX, Sherry Roche, was born in New York, but considers herself a Louisiana native since she was raised in the Shreveport area since the age of two.

As the Catastrophe Services Section Manager for State Farm, Sherry travels all over the U.S. in the wake of weather events. This spurred her love of traveling domestically and abroad.

Her other hobbies include spending time with friends and family, but most importantly raising her beagle who happens to be named for one of her martial arts heroes, Chuck Norris. Martial arts have played a significant role in her life since she was young. She is currently getting ready to test for her 7th degree black belt in taekwondo and is promoting the sport as the leader of United Taekwondo Alliance Women’s Council.

As a four year member of the Krewe of Gemini, Sherry is excited to represent Louisiana with her fiancé, Scott.
