Captain Gemini XXVIII Mary Louise Stansell

Captain Mary Louise Stansell is a native of Louisiana who was born in Shreveport.  However, as a young child, she spent many years living in Utah with her family before returning to Shreveport/Bossier for her High School years.  She is a devoted wife and mother of three children; Whitney, 24; Kristie, 19 and Christopher, 16.  She is currently employed at her family business, Independence Motors.

Captain Mary Louise Stansell has been a member of Gemini for 14 years and the Director of the Museum for the past 6 years. She has served on the Gemini Board of Directors; is past Duchess of Louisiana XVIII, Captain for Gemini XXIV and XXVII; Party Chairman; Royalty Chairman; 12th Night Chairman; Float Lieutenant for 9 years, and consort for 3 years to her Husband Chris during his year as Duke of Texas XVII and two years as Captain of Gemini XX and XXI.  And now, she is back once again as Captain for Gemini XXVIII.

King Gemini XXVIII Jack Murphy

Jack Murphy was born in Georgetown, KY and graduated from Scott County High School in 1972.  Later that same year, he married his wife, Karen.  Jack graduated from Midway College with a degree in Organizational Management.  He went on to serve and retire as a Sergeant Major in the United States Marine Corps Reserve.  Jack was employed for 38 years with Johnson Controls and recently retired as a Vice President.  Jack and Karen have two sons, one daughter-in-law, and three grandchildren.

Jack loves to volunteer as can be illustrated by his work with the Cub Scouts, the Scott County Chamber of Commerce, the Lakeshore Economic Development Agency, and the Tuscaloosa Area United Way.  Jack is honored to serve as King Gemini XXVIII and looks forward to a great year.

Queen Gemini XXVIII Karen Murphy

Karen Murphy was born in Georgetown, KY and graduated from Scott County High School.  Shortly after graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Jack.  They are blessed with two sons, one daughter-in-law, and three grandchildren. She and Jack were initially recruited by the late King Dave Michels to join the Krewe under a corporate sponsorship.  When Jack was being transferred to yet another job location in 1999, she and Jack were gifted with a Krewe membership as a going away present and they have maintained that membership ever since.

Karen served as Duchess of Texas in Gemini XXV. Even though Jack’s job assignments have taken them across the world and back, they have always returned to Shreveport to support the Krewe of Gemini.  Karen is honored to serve with her husband as Queen Gemini XXVIII and looks forward to a great year.

Duke of Arkansas XXVIII Keith McDonald

Keith McDonald, our Duke of Arkansas XXVIII, grew up in Tallulah, Louisiana.  He graduated from Louisiana Tech with a degree in Construction Engineering.  He is a devoted husband to his wife, Karen, the proud father of four children, and an even prouder grandfather of ten grandchildren.  He has participated in Gemini functions since 1998 when his wife joined as part of a corporate sponsorship.  Our Duke of Arkansas joined the Krewe himself in 2005 as a full member. 

Keith is currently the Quality and Safety Director at Calument Packaging.  A large portion of his career has been devoted to residential and commercial construction management and industrial environmental management.  He is very active in his church and serves in numerous capacities there.  He also enjoys swimming, golf, hunting, and traveling.  Our Duke of Arkansas is honored to serve in Gemini XXVIII.

Duchess of Arkansas XXVIII Karen McDonald

Karen McDonald, our Duchess of Arkansas XXVIII, is a native of Louisiana, having lived in Minden, Ruston, and later settling in Shreveport.  Her most treasured roles are those of wife, mother, and grandmother.  She and her husband, Keith, have four children and ten grandchildren.  She joined the Krewe of Gemini in 1998 as part of a corporate sponsorship and later joined in 2005 as a full member. 

Karen recently retired from her position as Human Resources Manager at Storer Equipment Company in Shreveport and has begun her own consulting business, People Matters.  She is very active in her church and serves in numerous capacities there, including community outreach and spiritual growth.  Our Duchess of Arkansas is honored to serve with her husband as they represent the state of Arkansas for Gemini XXVIII.

Duke of Louisiana XXVIII Ted Bryson

Ted Bryson, our Duke of Louisiana XXVIII, lives on a tree farm in Longwood, Louisiana. He is the father of three children.  He has been a member of the Krewe of Gemini for three years.  He graduated from ULM in Monroe and later from LSU in Baton Rouge.  He is employed as a pharmacist at University Health Hospital in Shreveport. 

Ted enjoys music, concerts, travel, cooking, entertaining, fishing, and boating.  He is also an Eagle Scout and a member of the Masonic Lodge.  He counts his health, his family, and his many friends as his blessings in life.  Our Duke of Louisiana is grateful to be part of this Krewe which he feels is comprised of many dedicated members.

Duchess of Louisiana XXVIII Cathy Bolt

Cathy Bolt, our Duchess of Louisiana XXVIII, was born and raised in Shreveport.  After graduating from Captain Shreve High School, she went on to graduate from Louisiana Tech with a degree in Finance.  She has been married to her best friend, Carl, for ten years.  She is the step-mother to two children and enjoys her four grandchildren.  She joined the Krewe of Gemini four years ago and has served as Meetings Chairman and also Special Events Chairman. 

Cathy is currently employed at the Law Office of Kirby Kelly in the litigation department.  She has been involved with Mudbug Madness for fifteen years and currently serves as the Finance and Sign Chairman.  She enjoys spending time with her family as well as watching Saints, LSU, and Tech football games, and Nascar.  She is very honored to serve as Duchess of Louisiana this year.

Duke of Texas XXVIII Roger Lites

Roger Lites, our Duke of Texas XXVIII, has been a resident of Shreveport his entire life.  After graduating high school, he went to work at his father’s gas station where in later life, he became part owner.  He is now the proud owner of four businesses in the Shreveport/Bossier City area.  He and his wife, Karen, are the proud parents of three children and grandparents of four.  He has been a member of the Krewe of Gemini since 2006.  His hobbies include playing Fantasy Football, cooking competitively in barbeque contests, and traveling. 

Roger is an avid pool shooter and has played on several teams in national competitions.  In his last tournament appearance, our Duke won a national championship at the 2008 APA National 9-Ball Singles Championships.  He is honored to represent Gemini XXVIII as the Duke of Texas.

Duchess of Texas XXVIII Sheri Underwood

Sheri Underwood, our Duchess of Texas XXVIII, was born and raised in Shreveport.  She is a graduate of C. E. Byrd High School.  She and her husband, Troy, live in Blanchard with a houseful of furry friends.  She joined the Krewe of Gemini in 2010 and has served as a float lieutenant.  She is currently employed as a medical transcriptionist with Willis-Knighton Health System. 

Sheri enjoys going to the movies, trying new restaurants, watching football, and traveling.  She has always had an intense passion for reading and writing and is currently working on her first full length novel.  She is honored to have been chosen to serve as Duchess of Texas for Gemini XXVIII and proud to represent the Krewe of Gemini.

Prince Jacob

Prince Jacob Stetson Wise is the son of Robby (Duke of Arkansas Gemini XX) and Kelly Wise (Duchess of Arkansas Gemini XXI) and nephew of Mary and Patrick Gallagher (Duke of Arkansas Gemini XXVI).  He is 16 and a sophomore at Captain Shreve High School, where he plays offensive line for the Gators. He is an honors student who is also involved in Key Club and other organizations.

In his spare time he enjoys playing guitar and doing things with his friends.  Jacob has ridden on the kids and teens floats for 9 years and is very excited to ride as a Prince this year.  He is also accompanied this year on the court by his cousin Ethan Chamberlain and his friend Caroline Brakeville.  Jacob is excited to represent Gemini XXVIII on the Royal Court this season.

Prince Joshua

Joshua Stoll is the son of Allan and Kristi Stoll, grandson of Chris and Allan Stoll, Sr all of Bossier City, and Charles and Lynda Buck of Haughton, LA.  Josh is a 10th grader at Parkway High School where he is currently on the Panther Baseball team.  He has been riding in the Krewe of Gemini since 2010.  He thanks his grandmother, Chris Stoll, a charter member, for giving him the opportunity to make such great memories with the Krewe of Gemini.  Josh is third of a lineage of former Gemini Princes, Daniel and Jordan.  He enjoys baseball, basketball, fishing, playing whiffle ball with friends, football games, and going to the race track with his family. 

Josh has been going to Camp Hardtner for 6 years.  This camp allowed him the opportunity to volunteer last year for a special needs children's camp called Camp Able, where he learned the true meaning of compassion.  Josh hopes to be an actor when he gets older.

Princess Shelby

Shelby Murphy was born in 2001 to William Murphy and Michelle Miracle. She will be a sophomore this fall at Scott County High School, located in Georgetown, KY.

Shelby is sponsored by her grandparents, Jack and Karen Murphy. She has ridden on the kids and teen floats a number of times.

Princess Julie

Julie is the daughter of Chief Warrant Officer and Mrs. Lucas A. Kneipp, and the sister to Dylan James and Addison Saylor.  She is the granddaughter of Krewe of Gemini members Leonard and Pam Simek.  Julie is a freshman at Benton High School and is in Pre-Advanced Placement English, Science, and Math.  She is involved in FORGE, a student youth group, at Airline Baptist Church.

As a member of the Benton Middle School Robotics Team, Julie has participated in several robotics competitions.  She was the recipient of the Star Student Award for Excellence in the STARBASE Louisiana Student Academy held at Barksdale Air Force Base.  In May, Julie received a Certificate of Achievement from the Air Force Junior ROTC for nearly a 99% average on the B-52 Flight Simulator Course held at Barksdale.  She was a member of a BMS student group that toured NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, and there she learned more about our country’s space exploration program.  This past year, Julie achieved placement on the Benton Middle School A/B Honor Roll.  She was a member of BMS Pep Squad and Peer Paws, which is a student group involved in community service.  Julie was honored to receive a nomination for BMS Student of the Year.

Watching movies, bowling, swimming, hanging out with friends and family, and traveling are some of the things that Julie enjoys doing.  

She is looking forward to attending college to study forensics and would like to become an FBI Behavioral Analyst, specializing in criminal profiling.

Julie has been involved with the Krewe of Gemini as a riding member for several years and currently rides on the Teen 1 Float.  She is very honored to represent the Krewe as a Princess for Gemini XXVIII.  

Princess Abigail

Abby lives in Benton, LA and is a sophomore at Benton High School.  Her favorite subjects are English and History.  This is her second year on the Benton High School basketball team, and her first year on the track team.  Abby left Benton Middle School with back to back basketball district championships. 

Abby likes listening to R&B, rap, and rock music.  Some of her favorite activities outside from school are shopping and spending time with friends and family.

She has enjoyed the Mardi Gras experience since she was a little girl, riding the kids float, and attending many parties and balls.  She finds the Mardi Gras experience exciting and fun. 

Abby plans to attend ULL and studying journalism after high school.  She strives to be the best daughter, granddaughter, friend, and student she can be.  Abby gives God all the glory for all of her achievements.

Prince Ethan

Prince Ethan Chamberlain is the son of Krewe members Patrick Gallagher (Duke of Arkansas XXVI) and Mary Gallagher and older brother to Emma and Evan Chamberlain.  He is also the nephew of Dr. Robby Wise (Duke of Arkansas XX) and Kelly Wise (Duchess of Arkansas XXI).  In addition, Ethan is serving as Prince this year with his cousin Jacob Wise. 

Ethan is a senior at Caddo Magnet High School where he is actively involved in Drama and Piano.  He was also recently selected and is currently a member of the National Society of High School Scholars.  He is actively involved in Central Assembly of God's youth group and participates in volunteer activities with Teen Challenge and community work.  Ethan's hobbies include playing the piano, singing and spending time with his family and friends. 

Upon graduation in 2017, he plans to attend Louisiana Tech University and major in Biology with future plans to attend Medical School.  Ethan has been involved as a riding member of the Krewe for 8 years.  He has been a member of the Kids Float and currently rides on the Teen Float.  He is both proud and honored to represent the Krewe as a Prince for Gemini XXVIII.  

Princess Caroline

Caroline is the daughter of Angela & Clayton Brakeville & sister of Shelby Ann.  She is the granddaughter of Bert Harris & the late James Harris and Charlie & Sally Brakeville. 

Caroline is a junior at Captain Shreve High School where she is enrolled in the Engineering Magnet Program.  She is a member of the National Honor Society and is a Distinguished Scholar.  She is a also a member of the Theatre Performance Team and Youth & Government where she recently authored a bill and it was passed at the Annual Y &G 2016 Legislative Meeting in Baton Rouge. She has also enjoyed volunteering at Providence House, through other clubs & church activities.

Caroline is a competitive shooter and competed nationally this past summer.  She was a member of the Louisiana 4-H Shooting Sports .22 small-bore rifle team. She and her team won 1st  place making them the National Champions.  Individually, she placed 3rd in the Nation.  She shoots CMP (Civil Marksmanship Program), NRA (National Rifle Association), & Silhouettes. This year she will be competing in precision air rifle and precision .22 rifle in her quest to make a collegiate shooting team in a few years.  Caroline was also honored to be selected a  LA 4-H Shooting Sports Ambassador. 

Caroline is a 3 year letterman for the Lady Gators soccer team & was named the Best Defensive Player of the Year as a freshman and was  selected for the All District Team Honorable Mention her sophomore year.  This is also her 3rd year to play for the Lady Gators JV Volleyball team. 

Caroline was introduced to Mardi Gras at a very early age by her parents, Krewe of Gemini members since 1992. Her mother was Duchess of Louisiana XIV, her father Duke of Texas XVIII, & her sister was a Princess of Gemini XXVI.  She has ridden in the Gemini Parades since the age of 7 and considers it an honor and privilege to serve as a Princess for Gemini XXVIII.
