Julie is the daughter of Chief Warrant Officer and Mrs. Lucas A. Kneipp, and the sister to Dylan James and Addison Saylor.  She is the granddaughter of Krewe of Gemini members Leonard and Pam Simek.  Julie is a freshman at Benton High School and is in Pre-Advanced Placement English, Science, and Math.  She is involved in FORGE, a student youth group, at Airline Baptist Church.

As a member of the Benton Middle School Robotics Team, Julie has participated in several robotics competitions.  She was the recipient of the Star Student Award for Excellence in the STARBASE Louisiana Student Academy held at Barksdale Air Force Base.  In May, Julie received a Certificate of Achievement from the Air Force Junior ROTC for nearly a 99% average on the B-52 Flight Simulator Course held at Barksdale.  She was a member of a BMS student group that toured NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, and there she learned more about our country’s space exploration program.  This past year, Julie achieved placement on the Benton Middle School A/B Honor Roll.  She was a member of BMS Pep Squad and Peer Paws, which is a student group involved in community service.  Julie was honored to receive a nomination for BMS Student of the Year.

Watching movies, bowling, swimming, hanging out with friends and family, and traveling are some of the things that Julie enjoys doing.

She is looking forward to attending college to study forensics and would like to become an FBI Behavioral Analyst, specializing in criminal profiling.

Julie has been involved with the Krewe of Gemini as a riding member for several years and currently rides on the Teen 1 Float.  She is very honored to represent the Krewe as a Princess for Gemini XXVIII.
