August 2011 Float Report

We have the paint at the den to white out the floats. Please contact for a date and time you can paint your float.

We have two projects in process at the den. First we are building the metal sponsor sign racks. I understand each float wants one, this will require some help from each float to get them completed. If you can help on weekends please let me know.

We are building a new float for the next parade. There will be activity at the den each weekend and if you can help during the week please contact me.

As you can see this is a busy summer at the den with projects that need to be completed soon. Please email or call for info.

June 2011 Float Report

Float props will be removed Saturday, June 4th. Each float should have at least 2 people to help in removing and storing the props. Usually takes about 3 hours with lots of help.

The new floor is down in the west float storage building, great improvement. Thanks to all who helped clean the area before blacktop was installed.

Next project will be repair of the roof on the north float storage building. Note this is the use of the property assessment portion of your membership fee. Our assets are an important part of the Krewe and the Board of Directors feel these are necessary projects to improve the value of the Krewe.

Highlighting Float F&G - Float Lt. Jeff Free

Blues Brothers - Float GFloat FG is the Blue's Brother’s Float and the title float for Gemini XXII. We incorporate 54+ riders within the Krewe’s membership and still growing. We have several current riders that are a part of Gemini XXII’s royalty; they include Captain Robby Woods, Duke of Texas Mark Baker, Duchess of Arkansas Kimberly Sampson, Duchess of Texas Diann Montgomery & Duchess of Louisiana Tiffany DeBlieux. Former royalty on our float include Gemini VII’s Queen Michelle Baker, Gemini XXI’s King and Queen Cliff & Donna Poimboeuf. Donna was also Duchesses of Texas for Gemini XVII and the very next year Cliff was the Duke of Louisiana for Gemini VIII.

We are a party waiting to happen and our reputation precedes us as the party float of Gemini. We do not shy away from fun and often gravitate toward gatherings of all sizes for an adult beverage or two.

Corporate sponsors for float F & G include: AAA Insulators, Bancorp South, Doctor’s Lab, Fire Tech Systems, Inc, Holmes European Motors and MMCC. In addition, we accompany the Mayor of Shreveport and the Grand Marshall for Gemini’s parade each year.
