I recently accepted the challenge to raise funds to support the Northwest Louisiana Race for the Cure on 09/17/2011 in the fight against breast cancer. One in eight women will be stricken with breast cancer in her lifetime and the more we raise, the more the Northwest Louisiana Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure can give back to fund vital breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs in our own community and support the national search for a cure.

2012 Bead Orders have been distributed via float lieutenants and are also available on the Krewe of Gemini web site.

Members are to submit their orders to their respective float lieutenant for submission to the Throw Chair by August 15.

Reminder:  All float riders must purchase $325 minimum order from the Krewe.

For everyone’s information below is a status update of our current membership:

For those of you that have paid your dues for this season the Board thanks you for your continued support.

For those members not paid yet you are reminded that annual dues were effective May 1 and members not reviewing as of Coronation are considered past and will be subject to the carrying fee. Also your present spot on your particular float will no longer be guaranteed.  Therefore, your prompt attention to this matter is appreciated.

We have the paint at the den to white out the floats. Please contact for a date and time you can paint your float.

We have two projects in process at the den. First we are building the metal sponsor sign racks. I understand each float wants one, this will require some help from each float to get them completed. If you can help on weekends please let me know.

We are building a new float for the next parade. There will be activity at the den each weekend and if you can help during the week please contact me.

As you can see this is a busy summer at the den with projects that need to be completed soon. Please email or call for info.
